Susan Gershenfeld

Susan GershenfeldSusan Gershenfeld is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute on Assets and Social Policy, Heller School for Social Policy and Management, Brandeis University. She has extensive policy, program, and research experience in higher education, not-for-profit, and government organizations focusing primarily on aging issues. More recently, she was founding director of Illinois Promise, which provided full scholarship and support to over 2,000 eligible low-income students at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Her current research interests focus on predictors of success (both in college and post-college) for underrepresented students. As a first-generation college graduate, Susan holds a PhD in Social Work from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, an MBA from Boston University, an MSW from Wayne State University, and a BA from Oakland University.
