Annual Meeting of the Council of Cooperating Organizations
September 22nd, 2000The meeting was hosted by the Administration on Aging in Washington D.C. and Assistant Secretary on Aging, Jeanette Takamura, welcomed CCO members. Representatives from the following organizations were in attendance:

Dr. Saralyn Mark, M.D., is a Senior Medical Advisor to the U.S. Public Health Service Office on Women's Health and to NASA. Dr. Mark provided an overview of women's health issues and research advances, particularly as they relate to aging women. Dr. Mark provided a specific example of advances in technology by discussing the technology transfer that was used to develop digital mammography.Stephen Brobeck is the Executive Director of the Consumer Federation of America. Mr. Brobeck spoke on economic security issues, focusing on savings initiatives for lower income Americans.
