American Savings Education Council --a coalition of private and public sector institutions -- undertakes initiatives to raise public awareness about what is needed to ensure long-term personal financial independence. ASEC's goal is to make saving and planning a vital concern of Americans and in the economic interests of employers.

BenefitsCheckUp — a free, easy-to-use service that identifies federal and state assistance
programs for older Americans.  The National Council on the Aging created BenefitsCheckUp to help older adults to quickly identify programs that may improve the quality of their lives.  Family and friends can also obtain facts about benefits that their loved ones may qualify for.  Take 10 or 15 minutes to enter information about your financial situation into an online questionnaire. Then, BenefitsCheckUp explains what benefit programs you may be eligible for and how to apply for them. BenefitsCheckUp is completely confidential.

Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)  --federal agency that administers Medicare and Medicaid

Economics Research Network / Financial Economics Network -- hosted by the Social Science Research Network (SSRN) dedicated to increasing communication among economic scholars, practitioners, and policymakers throughout the world.

HIICAP -- the New York State Health Insurance Information, Counseling and Assistance Program -- provides free, confidential, accurate and unbiased health insurance information, counseling and assistance for Medicare beneficiaries and their families. HIICAP helps people understand and make choices regarding Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare managed care, private insurance (including Medigap and long term care insurance) and related public benefits. Free, accurate and unbiased consumer help with Medicare, managed care, Medigap insurance, long term care insurance and more for Medicare beneficiaries, their families and others.

PowerCenter -- Program on Women's Education for Retirement, housed at the WISER (Women's Institute for a Secure Retirement) site.

Social Security Online -- the official website of the Social Security Administration.

The Social Security Network -- produced by the Century Foundation, this site is a source of information, analysis, and expert commentary on the Social Security debate.

Women's Bureau -- the single unit at the Federal government level exclusively concerned with serving and promoting the interests of working women.  Central to its mission is the responsibility to advocate and inform women directly and the public as well, of women's work rights and employment issues.  Web site includes links to regional offices around the country.
